The first thing that caught my attention upon my arrival in Ghana is how colorful everything is here; and I am not just speaking of the buildings and surrounding landscape, but also the vibrancy of the people and culture.

Today we had the chance to visit the Artists Alliance Gallery in Labadadi, Ghana, where a true representation of the vibrant Ghanaian culture could be seen plastered across its walls.

The museum itself was located right on the coast. Inside were large glass paneled windows that took in the natural light, illuminating the artists’ work while showcasing the ocean view outside.

The work was eclectic in its style, medium, and subject matter, but consistently the vibrant color patterns lit up every piece of canvas. I see these colors in the personalities of the people I have met here thus far.
