Wednesday was my second day of work. Day one didn’t warrant a post – it was mostly uneventful and consisted primarily of learning the who’s-who and what’s-what of the office. After asking several DG staffers yesterday if there was anything I could do or work on and being – mostly – told no, I was pleasantly surprised – and nervous – to be handed a press release this morning and asked to turn it into a story.

The subject of my press release was the Q1 Quarterly Report from the GIPC or Ghana Investment Promotion Centre. After some quick researching to figure out what the GIPC even is, I set out to work turning a statistic-dense, incredibly dry and boring press release into a readable article.

After much Googling, asking coworkers questions on style and format and looking at past articles on similar subject to get a feel for the paper’s style I put something together. You can read it on the Daily Guide’s website HERE!
