Walking into the GFA offices was initially underwhelming. It took professor Chris Chavez and me about 15 minutes to find the office, after asking three people we found the office, a room the size of my dining room with 5 people working in it. I was asked what I studied, and I told them advertising and they then asked me what I was good at, I told them my focus was strategy but I knew basic skills in photography, design, and social media. My boss’s eyes lit up when I said design. I was quickly asked to do everything from design invoice documents to soccer league photos to political posters. I am lukewarm on my role with the GFA, I want to focus on strategy and hone those skills, but my skills with the adobe creative suite are growing exponentially.
