As intrigued as I am to sit on the plane and watch every new released movie Delta has to offer, I am just as inspired to sit down and journal what has happened so far on the journey to Ghana. Half way there, only four more hours to go and I will take my first steps in Europe where we will have a seven-hour layover.
As the days have flown by leading up to our departure to Ghana, people kept asking me if I was excited. To be honest, my response was the same until now. Simply, it didn’t feel real that I am going to Africa, staying for six weeks in a place I have never experienced, only heard of and imagined. I would think about my trip and what could possibly happen but my feelings weren’t there. But sitting in the plane waiting to take off I started to feel different. I feel time in my hands, emotions changing, curiosity growing and excitement overflowing. I am on my way to Africa.
